Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 4, 2026
Overview
VoxHour ("the App") is a macOS menu bar application that announces the time and optionally reads upcoming calendar events. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data we access, how we use it, and how we protect it.
Data We Access
- Google Calendar data: If you choose to connect your Google account, the App reads your upcoming calendar events (event title, start time, end time) to announce them. This data is accessed in real-time and is not stored, logged, or transmitted to any server.
- Google account email: Used solely to display which account is connected in the App settings.
- App preferences: Your settings (active hours, days, language) are stored locally on your device using macOS UserDefaults.
Data We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers.
- We do not use analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs.
- We do not share any data with third parties.
- We do not have a backend server. The App runs entirely on your device.
Google API Services
VoxHour's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Authentication Tokens
OAuth refresh tokens are stored locally on your device. You can revoke access at any time by signing out within the App or by revoking access in your Google Account settings.
Data Security
All communication with Google services is encrypted via HTTPS. Authentication tokens are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to any third-party server.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
